NOW THOMPSON MAGNET SCHOOL

The Mission of J. A. Thompson Elementary is to establish a climate that will provide for the education, safety, and success of our children.


We are proud that our school utilizes PBS to maintain high expectations in behavior.
PBS is a term that refers to the application of positive interventions and system change; making the problem behavior less effective. Every year we open our first three days of the school year with stations that teach students how to be Safe, Respectful and Responsible. Our team is excited and proud of the results!The Extended Day Program is administered by the Adult Education Department of the School District of Indian River County (564-4999). The hours of the program are 7:00 a.m. – 8:05 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.Classes begin at 8:45 a.m. and conclude at 3:15 p.m. (Dismissal is at 1:40 p.m. on Wednesdays to accommodate the “early release” day.)
