Entertainment: Headlines
Candlebox to headline Sunday concert at Capt. Hiram?s
Candlebox is back and heading back to the top. ?Stand,? the first single off the band?s just-released ?Into The Sun? album, has raced to No. 15 on Billboard?s Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.

Broadway series adds sparkle to Melbourne's King Center season
The most exciting aspect of the King Center?s 2008-09 season is the Harris Broadway Series, which will bring touring productions of several big-time musicals to Brevard Community College?s venerable performance hall.

Gaming column: Beijing 2008
The entire game fails because of its control scheme and how each of the 36 events are played by you, the gamer. This is supposed to be a game, right? You?d almost think a pharma company selling arthritis medication developed this game. Where is the fun? Every event involves either intense button-mashing or maddening repetitive motions with the analog sticks, and everything is as responsive as a Methadone clinic patient, so all that pain in your joints will be for naught anyhow.

Gaming column: Madden NFL 09
The addition of Cris Collinsworth as the color commentator cannot be lauded enough. His insights are timely and eerily (at times) accurate to the play on the field. Also new is the Backtrack feature, which allows you to both learn from mistakes on a given play and also rewind and redo the play to make it right. That second part takes a lot of the fun out, so I would suggest ignoring it or else you will start begging for this feature in real life.

Restaurant critic review: At Saigon Bistro, Vietnamese food shines
Four of us stopped in to Saigon Bistro in Vero Beach without reservations on a Saturday night and were immediately seated in the three-quarters full dining room, painted a happy salmon. We sampled Vietnamese and Japanese offerings. The menu is extensive, but easy to read, with explanations of the sometimes unusual offerings.

Hey artists, the Elliott Museum is calling you
Stuart?s Elliott Museum will shut down at the end of the year, to make way for a new, state-of-the-art facility that?s scheduled to open in 2010. Directors at the 50-year-old history and cultural center are filling the remaining days at the old building with events and activities. It?s been a busy summer.

Restaurant critic review: Calypso Pot an inexpensive taste of Trinidad
At Calypso Pot, across from the Port St. Lucie courthouse, they serve a delicious curry goat roti ($8), with heavily spiced chunks of this succulent meat buried inside. Trinidadian cuisine is greatly influenced by India, with curries, chutneys and spices such as saffron prevailing. For appetizers we had phulorie ($1), flour and saffron fritters with spicy sauce for dipping. We also tried beef and jerk chicken patties ($2), enveloped in an empanadalike pastry shell. The chicken patty was my favorite, with its smooth, savory filling.

Out to lunch with Diana Foote: Family ties fuel summer spirit, sense of renewal
You know summer is winding down when your nails are yellow from the chlorine in all the pools you dipped into the last couple of months. But we are still hanging on. Any talk of back-to-school supplies, or Halloween costumes would be a dismissal of these last wondrous days when you rehearse shows all day and put them on, with at least five costume changes, at night for the adults.

Shelley Owens: Grown-ups scream for ice cream at Papa Z in Stuart
Papa Z, in the Regency Square shopping center, has added ice cream, but this summer treat isn't for kids. Jeffrey Schlissel, general manager and chef, puts Baileys Irish Cream in the peanut butter cup ice cream. Mint chocolate chip contains creme de menthe and Godiva Chocolate liqueur.

Movie review: 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' is fun but forgettable
You'll know you're in a different galaxy within the first seconds of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," which substitutes the Warner Bros. logo and theme music for the familiar 20th Century Fox searchlight and fanfare.

Latest Harry Potter movie postponed to July
The release of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is changed from its anticipated November release to July 17 next year.

Movie review: Spirit's willing, but 'Henry Poole Is Here' remains weak
Hollywood delivers so few movies with spiritual themes that complaints about its godlessness can seem justified. Then along comes "Henry Poole Is Here," proving that some filmmakers have the spirit but don't always know what to do with it.
